Hi there! I’m Rebecca Geddes, Registed Midwife and International Board-Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC).

I am honoured to care for you and your baby. It is my goal for you to feel safe and heard, and I take a kind, trauma-informed approach with all my clients.

Since graduating from UBC’s Midwifery Program I have practised midwifery all across rural and remote B.C., as well as in remote communities across Canada’s northern territories. Now, I gratefully live and practise on the beautiful territory of the Lekungwen-speaking people.

I have a diverse background in midwifery, science, fine arts, sexual health education, and teaching. I have also been fortunate to travel globally for my education. In Australia, I obtained my Masters of Fine Arts and my Cabinetry Certification. Additionally, I co-founded an arts centre in Sydney, Australia.

This creative work combined advocacy and my passion for mindful community, which has evolved into the way I practise as a full-time midwife, International Board Certified Lactation Consultant, clinical preceptor and sessional teaching faculty at UBC’s Faculty of Midwifery. Teaching is a cornerstone of my practice as I feel it is essential that we mentor and support the next generation of health care professionals to provide compassionate, thorough and patient-centred care.

When not working with babies and parents, I can be found in coveralls making art, listening to records or sipping a cup of coffee. I am excited to meet and work with you!

Perinatal Counseling

  • REGISTERED MIDWIFE, REGISTERED SOCIAL WORKER (MSW) (she/her)

Hi! My name is Adrienne and I’m thrilled to be a part of the Rosehips team. I’m an intentional solo-parent and have one young kiddo. I moved to the traditional territories of the Lekwungen peoples after graduation from midwifery school, and I couldn’t be happier to call this place home. I have been a Registered Midwife since 2013, and a Registered Social Worker since September 2023. Through these two professional lenses I hope to help you make sense of the challenges of pregnancy and postpartum by offering additional mental health support.

Through my social work education I have been taught about the benefits of unconditional positive regard on therapeutic relationships, and strive to impart that in our work together. My counseling style is informed by narrative therapy, as well as the theories of polyvagal somatic embodiment, and attachment.

With a referral from your primary care provider in pregnancy, I offer MSP-covered 1:1 relational counselling to help you along your reproductive journey and up to 6 weeks postpartum.
