Valerie Wernet

BUSINESS MANAGER & CHIEF PROBLEM SOLVER
(she/her/they)

I’m a poet & baker with a background in making small businesses more efficient, happier places. Like many people, my introduction to midwifery came with the birth of own child. I recently relocated to the Traditional Territories of the Esquimalt and Songhees Nations from Klahoose and Tla’amin Territory. I’m happy to be making my life here with my fabulous writer of a spouse, our curious three-year-old and a nervous yet soulful Scottie dog named Gorse.

HEAD CLINIC BEAUTIFIER
(she/her)

Being a part of such a beautiful clinic really warms my heart. As someone who was very young when I had my daughter, I know how hard it is to navigate the system and care for your child while keeping everything else together. I found it very hard to find support at the young age of 17. That was 26 yrs ago, and I am very grateful that pregnancy and birth care in BC now includes midwifery.
