A Registered Midwife will see you and your baby at the hospital after you give birth. After you go home, we will do frequent home visits, until you feel ready to come and see us in our clinic. We will care for you during the first six weeks after your birth. We will stay on call for you and your baby 24/7 for any emergencies that come up during that time.

What We Do

Care for birthing parents and their newborns by a Registered Midwife is fully-funded by the B.C. Medical Services Plan, meaning our service is free of charge up to six weeks postpartum. If you do not have MSP, or you need infant feeding support beyond 6 weeks, please let us know so we can make a plan together.

What does it cost?

Postpartum midwifery care might be right for you if:

  • You are currently unattached to a healthcare provider.

  • You are planning to travel to Victoria for birth or postpartum for specialized care for you or your baby.

  • You have a GP/OB but would benefit from extra support in the postpartum.

  • You would benefit from having your health care provider care for you and your baby at home in the weeks after your birth.

  • You need extra support with feeding your baby.
